Beth El Synagogue is a dedicated Jewish community serving approximately 60 families throughout our region.
Our services are led by service leaders within the synagogue, with weekly Friday evening Shabbat services. We also meet whenever there are special occasions such as Bar or Bat Mitzvahs to celebrate. Our services are a unique blend of Jewish traditions reflecting the diverse affiliations of our membership, which includes many interfaith couples.
Most of the work of our Jewish community is performed by our members on a volunteer basis. Volunteers lead Friday night Shabbat services which start at 7:30 p.m. Services are followed by an Oneg Shabbat, a time for dessert and socializing, prepared by members on a rotating basis. We have Hebrew School for our children, and throughout the year we hold special children’s services, often preceded by potluck suppers. We work as a congregation to ensure the children have an understanding, appreciation and commitment to our traditions. Our synagogue is also actively involved in local, national and international tzedakah projects (charitable giving), and we are involved with the local interfaith group.
