On behalf of the Jewish community of the Northeast Kingdom, We are delighted to welcome you and provide you with information about Beth-El Synagogue, in anticipation that you will join in our synagogue life.
Beth-El is a small, dedicated, Jewish community serving families throughout our region. We are lay-led and unaffiliated. Our services are a unique blend of Jewish traditions reflecting the diverse make up of our membership.
Most of the work of our Jewish community is performed by our members on a volunteer basis. Members lead Friday night Shabbat services, which are held weekly at 7:30 P.M. Services are followed by a community Oneg Shabbat, also prepared by members on a rotating basis. We have a volunteer-led religious school for our children and we work together to ensure their understanding, appreciation and commitment to our traditions. Our synagogue is also actively involved in local, national and international tzedakah projects.
We strive to maintain a membership dues structure that accommodates all individuals living within Northern Vermont and New Hampshire. We hope you will become members of our synagogue. Of course, membership assists us in maintaining our synagogue and its activities. More importantly, membership is a statement of commitment to Jewish life, values and traditions in a region of the United States where those values and traditions might be easily ignored or overlooked.
